Florida Victims of Tax Fraud Sue IRS

Florida residents beware! Law enforcement officers have noted an extremely high increase in tax fraud in the Tampa Bay area. Postal officials have intercepted hundreds of millions of dollars of suspected fraudulent tax refunds. Many residents have expressed their dissatisfaction with the efforts put in by the IRS to combat the scourge. In the meantime, lawmakers in Washington have introduced legislation and convened hearings to find ways to overcome the menace.

One such couple who had their tax refund stolen through fraud was Jay and Christine Gordon.

QE 3 Still Not Off the Table

After the Tuesday release of the Federal Reserve minutes the trading world is weighing the possibility of another round of quantitative easing in the United States. The Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke stated that he is concerned that the crisis in the European Union could cripple the 2 ½ year expansion the US has seen, and that the fragile recovery may need more help from the central bank.

Seattle IRS infested with Bed Bugs?

Could the IRS office in Seattle, Washington be infested with bed bugs? That’s the question being asked as investigations get underway after an IRS employee complained about getting bitten at work. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) confirmed receiving complaints from an IRS employee that she was bitten by bed bugs while on two floors of the Henry M. Jackson federal building on Second Avenue that houses the IRS office.

Ratings Agency Sets French Outlook To “Negative”

The market week started with a degree of optimism which sent stocks higher on the hope that political leaders within the EU would get together on Sunday and announce concrete measures to support the banking sector and shore up nations with sovereign debt problems: a line drawn in the sand, if you will. Whilst this may still happen (as it must do, sooner or later) at the weekend, German remarks that a deal may not be ready for the weekend sent them back into the red.
