– Eurozone consumer confidence declined more than expected in July, after rising in the previous two months, preliminary data released by the European Commission showed on Wednesday.

The flash consumer confidence index dropped to -11.4 from a revised -10.3 in June. Economists had expected the index to fall to -10.2 from June’s original reading of -9.8. The latest score is also the lowest since April’s -11.6.

The consumer confidence index for the EU decreased for the second month running in July. The index score fell to -12.5 from -11.5.

The final data will be published along with the economic sentiment survey results on July 28.
