Written by Robert White on March 19, 2011 – 4:01 am

Of course there are. Thousands upon thousands of people work from their home every day and not just in entrepreneurial ventures. Bank of America’s Membership Fees Break Law’s Intent, Follow Treacherous Industry Trend

Written by Robert White on March 4, 2011 – 10:46 am

Back in 2009, Wallet Blog broke the story that Chase had reneged on a promise it made to certain customers not to increase the interest rates on balances transferred to the company’s credit cards. Working together with the New York Times, Wallet Blog made the story national news, causing then-New York Attorney General Andrew Cuomo to threaten legal intervention against the financial giant. A

Real Estate Frustrations

Written by Robert White on March 2, 2011 – 12:23 pm

There are several things I consider maddening when it comes to real estate transactions. Have you experienced any of these real estate pet peeves of mine?

  • Real estate agents who charge an arm and a leg to sell your home.
  • Agents who parade people through your home unannounced.

The largest of the twin recalls involves 23,688 Ford Ranger compact pickups from the 2010 model year. A cover that protects the vehicles’ fuel line near the throttle body shield may not been installed correctly, causing the fuel line to chafe and leading to a possible fuel leak and fire, Ford said in its filing. Written by Robert White on February 26, 2011 – 10:28 pm

Two common complaints about the new credit card law, which celebrated its one-year anniversary on Feb. 22, 2011, are that it led to the extinction of 0% balance transfer credit cards with no fee and that it caused increased interest rates. One of these complaints is rooted in fact, but neither serves as a valid criticism of the law.

Yes, the CARD Act’s passage effectively signaled the beginning of the end for credit cards that offered 0% APR on balance transfers and had no fee for the service. H
